The B400b will be powered down this Thursday to make room for the new A600a installation.
The B400b computer will be set up probably in SCL 148 for people to recover old data.
The A400b will be available for experiments on Wednesday. It is capable of H1, C13, F19, P31 as well as VT experiments. Separate training for this instrument will start on Wednesday. It will have the same sign up queue structure as the B400b.
A third 400 MHZ NMR, A400c, will have a sample changer and will be set up similarly to the A400a. It is located in CRB 100 and should be ready for use by mid October.
Installation of the A600a with a c13 detect cold probe will begin on October 7th with a time line to operation of a month. Once completed it will have an approximate 7x higher S/N on C13 than our current 500 MHZ systems. A current overnight C13 experiment should take less than 30 minutes on this new magnet.
Both 500 MHZ systems in CRB 100 are scheduled for new consoles and probes in the month of November.
The queue for the sample changer for the new A400a should be visible on the booking website.
