Monthly Newsletter for May 2014
Dear CBIC Users,
We’re excited to announce our monthly CBIC newsletter! According to the CBIC user feedback survey, the majority of you would like to be updated about our activities on a monthly basis and we’re following up on your recommendations.
CBIC User Feedback Survey
Thank you again to everyone who completed the survey, we really appreciate your time and feedback! The winners of the survey prizes have already been contacted and should be receiving their prizes soon (apparently the prizes were backordered by Agilent's supplier and we have been waiting impatiently for them to arrive). The results of the survey have proven invaluable in helping us prioritize our efforts to make the CBIC the best that it can be.
Office Hours for Brandon Mercado and Eric Paulson
We are implementing "office hours" to provide more convenient instrument assistance. These are regular times each week when Brandon or Eric will be available and ready to answer any instrument-related questions and to provide advice on how to best use the CBIC to help solve your research problems. If you need help, it is available at the following times and locations:
Brandon Mercado (KCL 6)
• Monday 9am – 10am
• Tuesday 2pm – 3pm
• Wednesday 9am – 10am
• Thursday 2pm – 3pm
Eric Paulson (CRB 100)
• Monday 1pm - 2pm
• Tuesday 1pm - 2pm
• Wednesday 10am – 11am
• Thursday 10am – 11am
These office hours are not the only times that help will be available, but are times that you should reliably expect to find Brandon and Eric in their office if you need help.
Upcoming Instrument Relocations
The new CBIC space in KCL is almost ready. We will begin relocating benchtop instruments from CRB 100 into KCL 3 on Monday, May 12th. Relocation of NMR spectrometers will begin on Monday, May 19th. Specific times and details for the relocations will be posted when they are available.
Future Plans
A lot has changed in the CBIC over the past year, and we have plans to continue expanding and improving the capabilities and user experience in the CBIC. We look forward to keeping you updated as these changes and improvements occur. If you have any questions, please feel free to email, stop by during office hours, or explore our website (at http://cbic.yale.edu ).
Sincerely,
CBIC Staff
