Isothermal Titraion Calorimetry (ITC) Training Session

Our new TA NanoITC isothermal titration calorimeter is up and running in KCL 3. ITC is a technique that can be used to examine molecular interactions in solution, such as ligand binding to macromolecules. If you are interested in using this technique, we encourage you to attend our training session October 15th in KCL 3 at 2:00pm. The session will be taught by an ITC applications expert from TA instruments. Please contact CBIC staff or check the CBIC website for the most up-to-date information about this training opportunity.

Data Server Changes

We are moving the CBIC’s instruments over to Yale’s internal network. What does this mean for you? Firstly, the instruments and the data you collect with them will be far safer from outside hackers. Also, the change will allow us to establish a new centralized data server. Data from all the instruments will be saved in one place accessible from anywhere on Yale’s network. The downside is that the instruments will no longer be accessible from outside the network without a VPN client and a Yale NetID. Your SFTP settings will also need to be updated in order to log into the centralized server once it is up and running.

New Training Video Out Next Week

Watch out for a new training video to be released next week. Brandon Mercado introduces you to our Bruker D8 Focus Powder X-ray Diffractometer, and takes you through every step from sample preparation to scan execution. More training videos are in the works for the coming months.

Check out our YouTube channel to watch past videos, and subscribe to catch future releases.
